FRIDAY FEBRUARY 8 2013
No-one needs to be told of global club culture’s debt to Berlin. Undoubtedly the clubbing capital, day and night blurs with the city’s thriving community. Standing out from the eternal party though comes Leisure System. Known for combining the wealth of UK talent with the hard-edged Techno scene of Berlin, their parties have garnered huge recognition across the Easyjet route. From their Berghain residency to the stream of releases on the self-titled imprint, they’ve earned dedicated support from Berlin and beyond since their 2007 launch.
For our inaugural party together on Friday 8th February, Leisure System and XOYO present JETS. After 12 years of friendship and career parallels, Machinedrum and Jimmy Edgar’s pairing was inevitable. As they now both take up full-time residencies in Berlin their collaboration has reached a forceful head. Taking recognisable elements of electronic dance music and transforming them into something altogether new, the result is more than the sum of its parts reflecting the duo’s eccentric and distinctive personalities. Two of the most diverse characters in Clubland: JETS are unmissable.
Exploring 2013’s projected risers the billing reels off some of this year’s most interesting talent. Shadowy House pair Letherette’s infectious beat-driven music has put them on everyone’s radar (including Benji B and Giles Peterson). With their debut album on imminent release, there isn’t a better time to see them.
Manchester techno outfit Akkord are a key addition to the line-up. Combining creative passions, their eclectic hybrid of electronica has been tuned from years of musical knowledge and experience. A rare London date for them, many are no doubt eager to see what they deliver.
Dawn Day Night is set to get the dancefloor busy with his hybrid Jungle sound. London producer Visionist plays support alongside Kommune 1 and residents N>E>D, Discipline + Hubie Davison round the line-up.
Re-instating the Berlin-London connection, make sure you’re with us.
